Northeast Yucai School (simplified Chinese: 东北育才学校; traditional Chinese: 東北育才學校; pinyin: Dōngběi Yùcái Xúexiào) is an educational institute in Shenyang, China, offering education from kindergarten to Pre-University (Senior High) level.
NEYC is now composed by 8 campuses throughout the Shenyang City. The main campus (the South Campus) covers an area of 164-acre (0.66 km2), and a building area of 343,000 square meters.

The school was an annex of Manchurian Special Educational School.
The school was an institute by name of Fengtian Chiyoda Primary School (Chinese 奉天 千代田 小学 fèng-tiān qiān-dài-tián xiǎo-xué; Japanese:奉天の千代田小学校).
The name Chiyoda is due to the name of a major road nearby.
The Fengtian Chiyoda Primary School was aimed at the children who were the offspring of immigrates from Japan at World War II
The school was moved to Fushun by name of Wen Li School
On May 1, 1949, with great revolutionary tradition, Northeast Yucai School was established by those respectable proletarian revolutionists headed by Zhang Wentian and Xu Teli.
At that time, the school was an institute educating those whose parents were members of the Chinese Communist Party with positions of certain level in the army, communist party or the government of Northeastern China.
The school has been known to all as Northeast Yucai School.
Especially, since the implement of talent education in 1986, NEYC has been constantly reinforcing educational and teaching reform, created a middle school quality-education pattern----talent education pattern, which aimed at placing a foundation for creative talents of high standards. NEYC has formed a sound theoretical system and developed a successful pattern practical for talent education and has made outstanding achievements, which have made NEYC a nationally first-ranking and world well-known school.
NEYC, founded in 1949, serves the educational needs of the whole Shenyang City (Shenyang, the economic and political center of the Northeast China, with a population of 7.9 million). The school is now composed of 8 campuses utilizing a K-6, 7-9, 10-12 grade-level configuration. The whole school has a current enrollment of nearly 10,000 students. And the high school division is regarded as the most beautiful window of Shenyang basic education to the outside world.
NEYC (main campus, the high school division) is a comprehensive 6-year public high school enrolling students in grades 7 through 12. Fully accredited by the Provincial Education Department of Liaoning, NEYC is one of the key high schools in Liaoning Province as well as a nationally prestigious institution.
In order to meet the demands for excellent educational resources, NEYC provides advanced teaching facilities and best faculty; studies the cognitive and psychological developments of the students in different age groups (3-6, 6-12, 13-15, 16-18). NEYC established the brand-new Group Education patterns “Varieties of main body, Go in different ways, Chancellor’s accountability, Autonomous schooling”

Li Liqun (李立群 Lǐ Lì-qún),(December 26, 1919 – ) , is the first president of the school, whose husband Gao Gang (高崗) was the chief party secretary and government leader of Manchuria (Northeastern China) from 1949 to 1952.

There are about 600 incumbent teachers in NEYC, 99.4% of whom have earned a bachelor's degree in national famous normal universities. More than 120 teachers graduated from or are still in the postgraduate course. About 100 teachers have been to the US, the UK, Australia, France, New Zealand, Canada and Japan to have further professional improvements. High-qualified experts and professors have been invited to be part-time teachers, among whom 15 persons have served the school for more than one year, including 9 professors and research fellows, and 4 doctors. About 25 foreign teachers have been invited to work in our school each term.
Each school year consists of 2 semesters with various courses and subjects depending on the grade. We have no block schedule in either semester.
All students in the senior high school division (ranged grade 10 to 12) have daily required academic courses in Chinese Language, Math (including algebra, geometry and basic calculus), English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, Economics, and Philosophy. All science courses include lab courses and lecture in each school year.
4 times a week students have elective courses. There are almost 35 kinds of elective courses available for students in grades 9 through 11, for instance, Computer science, Pottery, Theatre & Drama, Chinese traditional painting, Art history and appreciation, etc.
Science Accelerated Programs are offered in Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer science.
Some Specialized Classes offer Japanese Language, French Language, English Language, Advanced level mathematics or other specialized courses.
The school does not rank in any official final exams regarding to the overall GPA in students academic record.
All the students' cumulative GPA is on a 100 scale. GPA is unweighted and computed using the above quality points. Beginning with grade 9, all subjects, whether passed or failed, are included in the computation. Grades are recorded on the transcript and GPA is computed in January and July. And the elective courses are marked with an asterisk on the official transcript.
There are 717 graduates in the Class of 2009.
